For a lion / For her / For a dance / For a crow / SHER
SHER is a depiction of Artemis Lampiri’s initial research for the new work of the MAN dance company. Here, in the form of a solo presentation, she works on memory—memory of imagination, fantasy, pleasure, sexuality, and heroism. How flexible is memory? How much can one reconstruct it without changing it?

Is there objective memory? Are we interested in objective memory? Always starting from personal searches, the choreographer examines whether one can generalize. At this stage of the research, questions arise such as: “A movement that pleases me or a movement that reminds me of pleasure?” “A position that calms me or a position that reminds me of calm?” How does one choose? The first answers generate more questions. SHER is an early presentation of these questions; the depiction of the patterns that are created; or rather, the unfiltered sensation that dominates. One could say that it is the beginning of a story that includes something old, something new, a girl, a memory, a lion, and a crow.

Presentation on March 29+30, 2019 at the In Progress Feedback Festival as a Guest Artist at Kinitiras Residency Centre
