Four solos of four people in a society that resembles ours. Four people that do not talk or cry, they just exist. Four bodies that let the viewer “invade” them and then come out of the theater richer. ANY ONE is an idea that comes from the concept of uniqueness. When one is born, he has one, and one is one: the one mirror that concerns him, the one food, the one point of reference one needs. That’s what the piece wants to explore. Is one ever becoming so important for himself? Is anyone one of himself? When does one recognize or rather separate or stand out its own choices over its environment choices? What does each individual stand for and when does one realize what is unique? Concepts like the unidentified individual that ANY ONE represents, to be anyone’s, or anyone who is anyone are issues that have concerned the dramaturgic and creative choreographer’s process.
ANY ONE is a work that begins with personal quests but creates a body quartet, a live orchestra that processes and negotiates the position and relationships of one into symbolic social totals, revealing structures and correlations in formation, with tender and yet sharp aspects. Significant elements of the aesthetics of motion are the rhythm and the meaning of time, the reason – as logical – in motion, as well as the accuracy of the movements and the linearity created by the geometry of body and space. Investigating the contrast of Micro-movement with that of unexpected big movements or hyper-intensive movements. The purpose of this aesthetic approach is through the absolute harmony and perfect execution of the kinetic material, to see the naked personality of each dancer through a strictly coded and defined context: motion quiet as an ordinary day or full of angles and intensity such as a the day when everything changes. Immorcations in uncomfortable positions and intense kinetic pattern at unexpected times. Quiet bodies with soft chest.
The project has original music that combines minimalist sounds such as electronica, glitch, microsound with light oriental elements. The visual environment is minimalist and ancillary to reading the differences of each performer.
ANY ONE is a very personal piece, tender and sharp. It has a willingness to identify the person and at the same time a quiet. A statement through immobility and unexpected “storms”. Quiet bodies that allow the public to distinguish and read their own story.
